Artificer Editing Co. began in 2018 when a pair of editors set off into the creative working world and found the publishing landscape daunting:  new authors often didn't know where to begin their publishing journey, and in the fast-paced publishing environment, editing manuscripts was a task to accomplish rather than a collaboration to explore. These editors saw how overwhelming publishing a manuscript can be and asked themselves, "Where do writers take their first steps into the business of publishing?" And so began their quest to create a bridge between business and writing in the business of writing.

Artificer Editing Co. was created to forge a map with which to navigate the publishing world and to bring a more personal touch to the editing process. Here at Artificer, our editors work closely with authors to ensure no commas are left spliced, no plot holes are left unfilled. Because we operate as independent contractors, our editors can focus entirely on what makes a good story, rather than what makes a good business decision.  Our mission is to combine the author's intent with the strengths of their manuscript to create stories that are clean, polished, and inspire the reader to turn the page.
